East Gwillimbury Electoral Review

Public Session InvitationAs part of the 2016 Budget, Council approved the hiring of consultants to conduct an electoral review.

The review is looking at the current method of electing council members and provides other options including the option of implementing a ward system, adding additional council members, introducing a Deputy Mayor role and even introducing a ranked ballot system.

I encourage you to read the consultant’s preliminary report attached to this email. It reviews the options and is meant to be used as a talking point to generate discussion and feedback.

As MAVA your association with the municipality and some of you residents, your opinion matters!

You are invited to attend any one of the 4 Public Open Houses (invite attached) and provide comments or if you wish, you may provide written comments to me which I can pass on to our consultants.

Thank you in advance.
