Spring/Fall 2000 - Dig Gardens, Paths, Plant Perennials |
|||
|
With the arrival of spring 2000, work began in earnest
to build the garden. "The project demonstrated what can be
accomplished with cooperation and commitment, " said Nancy Murden,
chairperson of the garden committee. "Whenever something was needed,
assistance of some kind or supplies and materials, it just magically
appeared. Many people volunteered their time and talents to make the garden
a success."
During the summer, the town put water and taps into the property. Volunteers dug the paths and laid the limestone screening. Trees and perennials were planted. Local business and garden supporters donated flowers, trees, supplies and equipment. |
