United Church

On June 10, 1925, the Methodist and Presbyterian Churches of Canada united to form the United Church of Canada. In that year, the congregations of the Methodist and Presbyterian Churches in the village voted to unite.

Chalmers Presbyterian Church

In 1863, the first Presbyterian service was held in the North School, the schoolhouse a mile north of the village on the northwest corner of Centre Street and the first concession (Doane Road).  In 1864, Chalmers Presbyterian Church was built on the east side of Centre Street just south of Doane Road, on the site of the current Mount Albert cemetery.

Initially there were two Methodist Churches in Mount Albert - the Primitive Methodist Church on Main Street and the Wesleyan Methodist Church at the top of the hill on Albert Street.  In 1883, the Methodist Churches in Canada formed a union and the congregation of the two Methodist Churches in Mount Albert voted to unite.

Hillside Church

The Mount Zion congregation was originally part of the Mount Pleasant Church, located in Egypt, two miles north of Zephyr.  In 1889, the Mount Zion members decided to form their own congregation.  The first service in Mount Albert was held on September 24, 1978 in the Community Centre.

Anglican Church

Anglican Church

The Anglican Church was built in the mid-1800’s, on the east side of King Street two houses south of the corner of Main and King Streets. It was on the same circuit as Sharon and Holland Landing.  This church closed in 1898 and the building was sold. It has been a private residence for some time.
