The
Valley Mills Hotel was located just south of Mill
Street on the west side of Centre Street. It was
built in the 1850’s. Many wonderful parties were
held in the hotel in the early days, including the grand
ball in the winter.
The
hotel had several owners throughout the years. John
Rosemond owned it in the 1880’s. Later Nick Gomon
owned it. In 1909, William Rear purchased it.
In 1912, Hub Foote purchased it.
In
the late 1900’s, Irvine Dubrick used it as a barbershop
and house. Walter Draper bought it and lived in
it for a time.
