The
Ross store was in the building just south of the drug
store on the east side of Centre Street.
Robert
Rowland first owned this building. For some time, Messrs.
McDonald and Sloane operated it as a general store.
In 1889, the post office was located here.
Harry
Ross bought the building in 1890 and rented it to Steeper
and Dunn for their dry good business and grocery business.
In 1913, Harry Ross took over the building himself and operated
a general store and post office.
In
the early 1930’s, Kenneth, his son, took over the store, assisted
by Howard and Bill Morton.
