Cook's Stable and Blacksmith Shop

68 Main Street

Mr. Frank Cook operated a livery stable and blacksmith shop on the north side of Main Street opposite Morton Brothers Garage.

Originally the building on the left of this picture, was a livery stable operated by Frank Cook.  Later James Rennie owned it and operated a woodwork shop.  At some point it was sold and converted to a shop downstairs with apartments upstairs.  Currently the Douglas family operates a restaurant downstairs called Double D’s.

Originally the building just east of the livery stable, the one on the right of this picture, was a blacksmith shop operated by Mr. Cook.

Cooks Stable

Mr. Cook moved this building down to this location from the top of the hill on Centre Street.  The current building houses a dry cleaners, coin laundry, Sears outlet, pizza and car wash.
